Why Move More?
The more you move – the better for you. Physical activity will help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Research shows that people who exercise are more likely to be successful with weight loss efforts. Plus, being active has many other health benefits:
Find an activity you love. You can walk, dance, play, work in your yard or whatever you find enjoyable. For adults, one hundred fifty minutes or more of moderate aerobic activity weekly (30 minutes or more 5 days a week) is the minimum needed to reduce risk of chronic disease and is a great start towards getting and staying healthy. Can’t find a chunk of time to be active? Try being active at least 10 minutes at a time. Remember to build lean muscles by also doing strengthening activities 2 or more times each week.
